Three days, and we’ve raised over $700 on Indiegogo! We want to begin by thanking the following contributors for making this a wonderful first week of fundraising:
Jake Amlin!
Andrew Spohn!
Katie Dillon!
Olive! (an astonishing Dayton restaurant)
Adam Brixey!
Mary & Steve Yarmosky!
Andrew Trimbach!
Thank you all so much for your encouragement, your generosity, and your willingness to share in this project with us.
In addition to Indiegogo, we’ve raised $90 in cash donations, which we’re storing for now in a tip jar at Good News headquarters. (We’re logging all cash contributions, so: give fifty dollars over five weeks — five here, three there, etc. — and you still earn the $50 rewards!) We would like to thank Jungmi Johnson! for her contribution to the Good News tip jar.
Beyond fundraising, we’ve also seen a wonderful response on Facebook this week, and we want to thank you and all of our friends and family members for helping make our introduction a welcome one. Thanks all, and have a great weekend.
- Zachary
Check out the new film we’re making. There’s a hooker and an evangelist in it!

Matt came up from his Covington cave a couple weekends back and we shot material for a video designed to fill you in on our new short film Good News for Modern Man. While shooting the video we devoured a pair of really pretty enormous sandwiches — I mean like too big, like you’ve got to have snake jaws (the type that dislodge for the purpose of swallowing mice and rats too-many-times-too big) to eat these things — and enjoyed some wine and each others’ company. A few nights later I checked out some additional audio equipment and recorded myself talking about my movies (yeesh) into the wee hours, then spent the next couple of days at a schooldesk on the front porch, editing that video for thine eyes in some unseasonably awesome weather. I’ve left a modest picture trail of the process, in case you’re interested.
Thanks for stopping by.

Pre-production launches today on a new short film by Zachary Severt.
Good News for Modern Man is a short film about Noah Boulder, a young man on a strange path, who is getting to know his ghost. Scheduled to shoot in Ohio in July 2012, it is the second film by writer-director Zachary Severt and cinematographer Matthew Beck. Their previous short film Boys Will Be Boys can be viewed here. Check out our video pitch above, and donate now at Indiegogo.
And of course, stay tuned here and at our twitter and facebook pages for regular updates on the production. We’re glad to have you.
